Transparency
How Property Scout Makes Money
At Property Scout we believe transparency builds trust. We want users to understand exactly how our business operates, how we generate revenue and how we maintain the independence of our data, rankings and insights.
Our revenue model
Property Scout currently generates revenue through:
1. Subscriptions
Users can choose paid plans which unlock additional features such as:
- Unlimited searches
- Full rankings
- Alerts
- PDF reports
- Advanced insights
Subscription revenue helps fund data licensing, platform development, infrastructure, and ongoing research and analysis.
2. Founder Memberships
A limited number of Founder Memberships are available to support the development of the platform. Founder Members receive lifetime access to qualifying features in return for helping support the platform at an early stage.
3. Partner Introductions
Some users choose to request introductions to third-party professionals such as:
- Mortgage brokers
- Conveyancers
- Landlord insurance providers
Where a successful introduction is made, Property Scout may receive a referral fee from the provider. Users are never charged additional fees for these introductions.
What does NOT influence scores
Investment scores, rankings, insights and area recommendations are never influenced by:
- Advertising payments
- Referral commissions
- Partner relationships
- Sponsorship arrangements
No area can pay to receive a higher score. No partner can influence rankings. Property Scout's scoring methodology operates independently from commercial relationships.
How scores are created
Property Scout combines information from sources such as:
- HM Land Registry
- ONS
- EPC Register
- PropertyData
Scores are generated using objective data points including yield, growth, demand, affordability and employment indicators.
Further details are available on Methodology and How scores are calculated.
Partner relationships
Property Scout may work with carefully selected partners. These relationships are intended to help users take the next step after identifying an investment opportunity.
- Mortgage brokers
- Conveyancers
- Insurance providers
Users are always free to use alternative providers. Property Scout does not provide financial, mortgage, legal, tax or insurance advice.
Our commitment
We believe investors make better decisions when they understand both the data and the business behind the platform.
